-Since yesterday was Mothers Day, it s only appropriate that we share Tracy and Pauls May 2nd Colorado Springs wedding! Tracy is not only a beautiful Bride, but is also a beautiful mother to her 12 year old son, Myles. Who by the way- walked her down the aisle! Check out the fabulous photographs taken by Otto Schulze (who we cannot wait to work with again) and read all about the beautiful couple
This Bride and Groom is every bit unique- truly! The Groom is from South Africa and the Bride is a Doctor in Colorado Springs. They are avid bikers, so it was especially important to them to include lots of bicycle details and South African details (think Protea Flowers on her cake centerpieces) throughout the wedding! Since Tracy is always coming up with unusual surprises for Paul it was no surprise that she wanted to catch her Husband-to-be off guard with tons of unique surprises the day of their wedding! Such as, Flamenco dancers kicking off the cocktail hour, hip hop dancers kicking off the Reception and even hiring wedding crashers to make every woman get on the dance floor! This was a wedding that was mixed with nontraditional and eclectic elements making this a memorable celebration for Tracy, Paul and Myles! It was intimate and warm, filled with nothing but love and romance. This was truly a great wedding and fabulous couple!!

Real Wedding : Tracy and Paul in Colorado
Today's Real Wedding is filled with the most amazing eye candy and it's all about the details . . . with buttons. Super cute and yet so classy. I love all the colors in this wedding, which perfectly fits the ceremony/reception location at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Ashley and Heather of Table 6 Productions put together a stunning wedding and Otto of Otto Schulze Photographers captured every single detail perfectly.
And, the bouquet . . . Wow!!! It's made of buttons (a great eco-friendly option as it can be displayed and kept after the special day) and was made by the talented etsy shop Real Bad Kitty {RBK Creations}.
Thank you so much Otto for sharing this fun wedding with us. To see more images from Tracy and Paul's wedding, please visit the Otto Schulze Photographers Blog. Do check back early this afternoon to see some of the "cute as a button" bouquets created by RBK Creations.

Elvis Santa spreads Christmas cheer Downtown

Downtown shoppers received a surprise visit from Elvis who was out spreading holiday cheer Friday to ensure people don't have a blue Christmas this year.
"I wanted to start out the Christmas shopping season by wishing all the shoppers a Merry Christmas," said Andy Sanchez, who donned the trademark Elvis white costume, dark glasses and sideburns along with a red Santa hat and cape.
Sanchez, who was advertising the holiday sales at the Style Bride shop, stood at the busy intersection of Fourth Street and Santa Fe Avenue waving to passing motorists.
Hoping to kick off the holiday season in a special way, Sanchez said he thought posing as Elvis Santa would be a great way to help put people in the holiday spirit. "I thought about wearing a Santa suit, but then I thought Why not an Elvis Santa," he said. "It's a little different, but it's also something that brings a lot of smiles."
The Elvis suit was made by Style Bride owner Mia Gonzalez, who initially sewed it for a Halloween costume.
Sanchez said he wore the costume on the warm, sunny Friday to promote the day after Thanksgiving sales and to encourage people to shop Downtown businesses this holiday season.
"We want people to support the Downtown businesses," he said. "My hope is that all the (Downtown) businesses have a Christmas that's in the black."
Sanchez said he wanted to bring some happiness to Christmas shoppers during a year that has been plagued with a slow economy.
"I've been getting quite a few smiles and there are lot of people honking," he said. "It's nice to see people out enjoying the day. I hope it continues and everybody has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and they shop Downtown."

Style Bride instills pride
in soon-to-wed couples
By PABLO CARLOS MORA
CAMINOS EDITOR
Rebecca Cortez, who is to
marry 24-year-old Michael
Pena in June, makes the long
trek from Las Animas to
Pueblo wi th
one purpose in mind.
I want to wear an awesome
dress at my wedding,
Cortez, 22, said.
This is the best place to find it.
Fashion designer Mia Gonzalez, owner
of Style Bride Boutique and Design Studio,
offers the kind of personalized service
Cortez says she cant find elsewhere
in Southern Colorado.
I feel like the center of attention
here, Cortez said.
The shop provides a broad assortment
of services to couples preparing to wed,
from off-the-rack bridal gowns to
custom-made outfits, plus all the trimmings:
lingerie, bridal party dresses,
shoes, ornate flowers and nearly everything,
including invitations.
If someone doesn't find something
they like, instead of going to Denver, we
do it all here, Gonzalez said. We fulfill
the brides needs, wants and hopes.
Wedding gowns range in price from
$240 to prices in the thousands. The
average amount is $1,200, Gonzalez
said.
Andrew Sanchez, Style Bride general
manager, said a custom design entails
creating sketches of the dress, attention
to detail and plenty of craftsmanship.
The design of the gown should fit
the profile of the bride, Sanchez said.
Gonzalez said custom gowns, which
she tailors in her shop, are elaborate
and time-consuming but well worth the
extra cost.
With designs from a book, you dont
know what they will look like on a
body, Gonzalez said.
The early part of the year is busiest
at the shop, Gonzalez said.
After the holidays and Valentines
Day, we get a rush of orders. Many proposals
are made during that period,
Gonzalez said. It helps to get at least
four months for a speciality order
brides shouldnt wait until the last
minute. We want to make sure it comes
in correctly.
Outfitting a wedding party also
requires good lead time, but Style Bride
has a full array of shoes, hair jewelry
and other items.
Style Bride also offers wedding
gowns for expectant mothers.
Yes, it happens sometimes, Gonzalez
said. Gowns can be tailored to
accommodate anything showing.
Sometimes they want to hide it,
sometimes they dont care. Those marriages
usually take place very quickly,
though, she said with a smile.
Gonzalez, 29, and Sanchez, 34, both
graduated from Pueblo County High
School. She has a bachelors degree in
fashion design from Colorado State
University in Fort Collins; Sanchez has
a masters of fine art from Colorado
University in Boulder.
Gonzalez worked in Beverly Hills
with fashion teams that created gowns
for movies such as Runaway Bride
with Julia Roberts and Father of the
Bride.
I've had experience designing 100
percent silk gowns, the creme de la
creme. But we always work based on
the needs of the bride and groom,
Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez and Sanchez have been
putting in work at the shop for a year
and a half.
We believe we will continue to
grow if we can help make peoples
dreams come true, Gonzalez said.

Fabulous fiesta festivities wow friendly folks
By SANDY STEIN
NEWLYWEDS JENNIFER AND ADAM Daurio are finally "back to normal" at their home in Parker following an Aug. 15 wedding and parties from late morning to midnight. The daughter of Julie and Dale Olinger of Evergreen and the son of Puebloans Annette and Dan honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas for one week with plans for an extended January retreat to Tahiti.
The Maytag Ranch at Hillside was the site of the yellow-and-white ceremony, where nearly 200 relatives and close friends shared in the outdoor nuptials. Invitees were bused from Pueblo to the meadow for the exchange of vows and luncheon.
Hand-tied white roses and yellow calla lilies were carried by six bridesmaids who wore strapless yellow empire-waisted, satin-lined chiffon dresses. Jennifer's bouquet: yellow roses and white calla lilies. A father-daughter duo sang religious and popular songs.
The couple's two dogs were led down the aisle by the flower girl and ring bearer. Folks from Germany and four states gathered at the superb venue for upscale Italian appetizers in the lodge before the buffet luncheon in a large white tent.
Huge arrangements of yellow lilies, daisies and freesia in Mason jars centered the dining tables and large vases filled with lemons and lilies dotted the wine and cheese reception. Karen and Kenny Ginther, grandmother Pauline Taravella (celebrating her 99th birthday!), Josh and Jon Peek, Connie and Gene Gibbons, and Joyce and Vince Vigil admired the three-tiered Victorian cake with lemons, limes and miniature oranges between the tiers, topped with orange-tipped yellow roses.
"Diamonds and Denim" themed the evening dinner dance at the Colorado State Fairgrounds with 800 guests in a BIG tent. White-clothed tables were punctuated with more yellow-and-white floral arrangements in silver tins, Mason jars and antique boots.
Carol and Tony Salas, Lana and Jack Hunter, Ross and John Patti, Lorrie and Gunnar Anderson and Betty and Andy Bigler were some bedecked in bling, boots, bolos and wide-brimmed Western hats. D.J. Tim Kiley provided country swing, polka and jitterbug music during dinner until the bride and groom kicked off the dancing to Triple Nickel with "Save the Last Dance for Me."
Italian cookies and multi-flavored cupcakes topped with yellow and white rosettes concluded the fabulous festivities on a sweet note for Nici Book and Jef Macaluso, Shawnette and Jason Henson, Dee Dee and Craig Fetty, Melissa and Larry Martino and others. Guests were favored with handmade leather cases of CDs of the couple's favorite songs.
Jennifer is employed as a financial analyst at CoBank and Adam is an attorney with Montgomery, Little and Stewart. Their wedding is still being touted as one of the summer's finest.
